Instructor David WestWelcome to the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Institute!
We offer traditional Tai Chi Chuan training to students that are serious about maintaining a healthy lifestyle. We practice, teach and inform on the internal art of Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan (Tai Chi).

Tai Chi has long been known by the Chinese people for its health benefits. Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan is a series of movements (postures and transitions), developed over a century ago by the Yang family in China. These movements are connected together into what is called the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Long Form.

You will practice each movement one at a time to develop posture, alignment, strength, flexibility and grace... gradually developing this very precise and effective martial art form. Learn this flowing internal form of Chinese Kung Fu at any age!

Ask about our Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Certificate Program

Tai Chi CertificationWe now offer certification to students that have achieved 2 or more years of reasonably consistent training at our Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Institute.

Each participant must successfully demonstrate a competent level of proficiency in the performance of the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Long Form, the Tai Chi Sword Form, and the Tai Chi Saber From.

Demonstrating a competent level of push hand techniques is also required.

Students will also be required to take a written exam covering Tai Chi Chuan's principles, history, terminology, long form questions and other related topics. Students will be given the required material to study for this exam.

Our certificate can be extremely helpful in a student's future. Some students go on to teach Tai Chi Chuan, or possibly go into a related field such as fitness, education, security, health, etc. Having a certificate is a document of validation, that you can attach to a resume and also display in your home or office. A certificate in Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Studies also signifies a level of achievement that you and your family can be proud of.

Students may be reviewed for an upgraded certificate after every 2 years. Each certificate will be marked with the number of years you have completed study with our Institute. You must wait at least 2 years between each certificate update.

We also offer Live! WebCam Lessons!
